Avner Avraham

Avner Avraham is a multifaceted individual whose diverse expertise spans the realms of intelligence, art, academia, and cultural curation. Born and educated in Israel, Avner's journey is deeply intertwined with his family's heritage from the city of Mosul in Iraq, and their immigration to Israel as part of 'Operation Ezra and Nehemiah'. After completing his education in electronics and computers at the ORT Holon school, Avner embarked on a distinguished career path that led him through various roles in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the Mossad.

With a bachelor's degree in computer science and a master's degree in business administration and entrepreneurship, Avner's academic achievements are complemented by his expertise in museology and curatorial studies, earned with honors from Tel Aviv University. His tenure in the IDF, where he served as a Major and later as a detective in the Israel Police voluntarily, laid the foundation for his career in intelligence and security.

During his 28 years of service in the Mossad, Avner held a series of influential positions, both in Israel and abroad. Notably, in his final years with the organization, he spearheaded the establishment and management of the Museum of Intelligence and Special Functions, serving as its chief curator. His contributions to the museum's development and his curation of numerous exhibitions underscore his passion for preserving and showcasing the history of intelligence operations.

Avner's expertise in Mossad operations has earned him international renown as a lecturer, exhibition and film producer, and writer. He is particularly recognized for his involvement in ‘Operation Finale: The Story of Eichmann's Capture and Trial’, where he served as a senior advisor to the Hollywood film of the same name. Additionally, his exhibition on ‘Operation Entebbe’(Operation Yonatan) has garnered widespread acclaim for its portrayal of one of the most daring rescue missions in history.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Avner is also an accomplished radio broadcaster, abstract and pop-art painter, and curator of conceptual art exhibitions. Through his weekly radio program on Israeli radio, he explores the intersection of culture and art, showcasing his diverse interests and creative pursuits.
